We plan to accept government-funded hours to help make quality Montessori education more accessible for your family.

Funding Options

Below is general information about funded childcare hours in England. Specific details about how funding applies at ABC Letters will be confirmed closer to opening.

For all 3 to 4 year olds

15 Hours Universal Funding

All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week from the term after they turn 3 until they start school.

Eligibility

  • Available to all 3 to 4 year olds
  • Starts the term after your child turns 3
  • No income requirements
  • Can be used over 38 weeks or stretched across more weeks

For eligible working families

30 Hours Extended Funding

Eligible families may receive an additional 15 hours of funded childcare, totalling 30 hours per week.

Eligibility

  • Both parents working, or a single parent working
  • Each parent earns at least the minimum threshold
  • Neither parent earns over £100,000 per year
  • Apply via Childcare Choices

For eligible families

2-Year-Old Funding

Some 2-year-olds may be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare from the term after their second birthday.

Eligibility

  • Families receiving certain benefits
  • Children with an education, health and care plan
  • Children looked after by the local authority
  • Check eligibility via your local council

Visit childcarechoices.gov.uk to see which funding you may be eligible for and apply for 30-hour codes if relevant.

Register your interest

Complete our registration form and tell us you're interested in using funded hours.

Share your details

Provide your eligibility code for 30 hours or complete the relevant declaration for universal funding.

Start using your hours

We'll apply your funded hours to your fees from the start of the eligible term.

How do I apply for funded hours?+

For 30-hour funding and Tax-Free Childcare, apply via childcarechoices.gov.uk and share your code with us. For universal 15 hours, no application is needed beyond your child's details and our declaration.

When can I start using funded hours?+

Funded hours can be used from the term after your child reaches the eligible age. Funding terms start in September, January, and April.

Can I spread my funded hours?+

Yes. Funded hours can often be used over 38 weeks or stretched across more weeks through the year depending on the arrangement.

Do funded hours cover everything?+

Funded hours cover the core educational provision. There may be additional charges for meals, nappies, or extended care beyond the funded entitlement, and we will explain those clearly.

Can I use funded hours at multiple settings?+

Yes. You can split funded hours between childcare providers. Let us know if you plan to use hours elsewhere so we can coordinate correctly.
